A calm, grounded space to breathe, reflect, and feel heard.

About me

Warm, person-centred counselling grounded in compassion.

I work from a person-centred foundation, offering a thoughtful and respectful space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life. My approach is based on listening carefully, working collaboratively, and supporting you without judgement or pressure.

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have been counselling for more than five years, including three years of voluntary work with charities such as Evolving Minds. I have also trained with Place2Be, supporting young people aged 11 to 18, and trauma is a particular area of experience in my work.

Outside the therapy room, I am family-orientated and value spending time with my children and grandchildren. That grounded, human quality carries into the way I work: offering a steady space where difficult experiences can be explored with care rather than rushed or pushed.

How I work

How counselling feels matters. My practice is built around person-centred work, clear boundaries, and a calm online setting that gives you space to speak honestly in your own time, whether you are bringing a long-standing difficulty or something more immediate.

Person-centred

The work is shaped around you, your pace, and what feels important to bring into the room, without pressure to explain everything neatly or have all the words straight away.

Trauma aware

Sessions are handled with care, recognising that some experiences, especially trauma and abuse, need steadiness, safety and choice rather than pressure.

Clear boundaries

Fees, cancellations and the practical side of online counselling are explained clearly from the outset, so you know where you stand.

What I can help with

People come to counselling with many different experiences. The list below gives a clearer sense of some of the areas I have supported people through.

Anxiety and stress

Support with overwhelm, pressure, worry, panic, or life feeling hard to hold.

Low mood and depression

A place to talk about sadness, emptiness, hopelessness, or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Bereavement and loss

Support with grief, change, endings, pet bereavement, and adjusting when life no longer feels the same.

Trauma and abuse

Including sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional harm and other experiences that continue to affect daily life.

Self-esteem and identity

Space to explore shame, confidence, self-worth, neurodiverse experiences and the impact of difficult patterns.

Other difficult experiences

This can include self-harm, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, relationship strain and other issues that feel hard to carry alone.

What to expect

Getting in touch should feel manageable. You do not need a polished explanation before reaching out, and first contact can stay simple and practical.

Questions you might have

You may want a clearer sense of how sessions work, what confidentiality means, and the practical details around support. These are some of the questions people often ask first.

What professional support and insurance do you have?

I am a BACP Registered Member, work with regular clinical supervision from an experienced BACP-accredited supervisor, and hold insurance through Holistic Insurance.

How are records and emails handled?

Notes are secured and encrypted, kept for five years, and then destroyed. Email is handled through Google Mail with two-factor authentication, and messages are deleted when they are no longer needed.

Do you offer an introductory call?

Yes. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call so you can ask questions, talk briefly about what you are looking for, and see whether the support feels right for you.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, ask practical questions, and decide whether the support feels like a good fit.

Is what I say confidential?

What you share is treated confidentially. I will explain the usual limits, such as serious risk of harm, safeguarding concerns, legal requirements and professional supervision.

Do I need to know what to say?

No. Many people come to counselling unsure where to begin. You are welcome to start wherever feels possible.

How do online sessions work?

Sessions take place through Doxy.me. You will need a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection so you can talk without being interrupted.

Can I ask about availability before booking?

Yes. A short email asking about availability or a free 20-minute introductory call is completely fine, and you do not need to share your full story straight away.

Get in touch

If you would like to ask about counselling, email is the preferred first step. You do not need to explain everything at once, and a brief message asking about availability or a free 20-minute introductory call is enough.
